Statutory compliance
Registrations & Licences
We obtain the registrations and licences your business needs, keep them renewed and make sure they match how you actually operate. Under the OSH Code, many separate registrations are giving way to a single online registration and licence.

What we do
- Shops and EstablishmentsWe obtain your registration under the state Shops and Establishments Act, or file the intimation where that is all you need, and handle the compliance that follows.

- Contract labourRegistration for principal employers and licences for contractors, now under the OSH Code (formerly the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970).
- Building and constructionRegistration for construction companies and contractors, now under the OSH Code (formerly the Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996).
- FactoriesFactory registration and licence, including the common licence the OSH Code allows for a factory that also engages contract labour.

Questions
Common questions about Licences
What changed for registrations under the OSH Code?
Separate registrations for factories, contract labour, building work and similar are being replaced by a single electronic registration for the establishment, and contractors can obtain a single licence. If you are already registered under an earlier central law, you intimate those details instead of registering again. How this works in Maharashtra also depends on the state's OSH rules, which were still in draft in September 2026.
Do we still need a Shops and Establishments registration?
Yes. It is a state law and continues alongside the Labour Codes. In Maharashtra, depending on your headcount, you either register or file an intimation under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017.
Who needs the contract labour licence, us or the contractor?
The contractor holds the licence; your establishment, as principal employer, is registered. The OSH Code raised the level at which these provisions apply from 20 to 50 contract workers, so check with us whether you and your contractors are covered.
We are a construction company. What do we need?
Construction has its own requirements: registration of the establishment, registration of workers with the welfare board and payment of the construction cess. We handle the registration and guide you on the rest.
